Keith Haring

Keith Haring was born in Pennsylvania on the 4th of May, 1958 and he died in New York on the 16th of February, 1990.

He was introduced to art by his father who was a cartoon artist.

When Keith was 20, he moved to New York where he discovered an alternative art in the streets: graffiti.

He was famous for his wall murals and his interesting drawings of people.

He was influenced by Pablo Picasso and Walt Disney.

He used the city as his canvas. (Station walls…)

His famous images include: dancing figures, a crawling baby, a barking dog, a flying saucer, large hearts, and figures with televisions for heads.

His artwork is plenty of energy and optimism using bold lines and bright colours.
